Space Shuttle 3-11I wrote post last month: Stupid people at NASA about the shuttle launch.

Well there was another launch this morning at 2 am. Indeed a beautiful site to see the shuttle launch in near darkness. But I wonder how smart this actually is.

Here is another arctile about this mornings launch, Space shuttle Endeavour blasts off . Just skimming the article nothing looks to be too bad. But then if you read it in its entirety all the way to the end, things start to turn. It starts with talking about the countdown being smooth, which is true, no major delays this time arround. But the actual launch had a few minor glitches, a bad electronics card that is part of the control system for the ships steering thrusters. Then they also had to switch to the backup for the primary cooling system. Then it goes on to state that because it was a nighttime launch, there were fewer launch images then normal, and that a piece of debris was seen falling off the external fuel tank.

Come on. You people at NASA are supposed to be rocket scientists. Who scheduled the nighttime lift off when there is still the problem of falling debris? Personally I would want all the possible lighting and all the possible camera angels until they fix the foam. Raise your hand if you would feel safe being sent into space by NASA as things currently stand.
